Emma has 15 years clinical experience working in a variety of NHS and private sector settings. She has held a number of senior occupational therapy positions at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust including inpatient acute brain injuries and neurological rehabilitation. She also has locum experience in a variety of hospitals within the northwest, including The Christie, where she worked with patients with neurological impairments following cancer diagnosis.
Since 2005, Emma has worked within the Burns & Plastics Unit at the University Hospital of South Manchester. Here she specialised in the management of traumatic, congenital and acquired hand injuries/conditions in both adults and children.
She has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of conditions affecting the hand, and a keen interest in paediatrics and focal spasticity management. Emma is passionate about the treatment of children requiring hand therapy.
She thrives on the challenge of addressing the needs and feelings of both the children themselves and their families. Emma is committed to providing high quality care to her patients. She believes working as part of a multidisciplinary team is of the utmost importance to ensure patients achieve their potential.
Her key achievement to date is becoming a Clinical Specialist Hand Therapist in a nationally and internationally renowned hand therapy department.
